That was Year Six

 We wrote a poem about all the things we remember about our Year Six year.

Here is my one.

Rap time!

 Have you ever done a rap?

For our reading we had to read a Dr Seuss story and turn it into a rap in a group.  I had Eden, Finn and Tanche in my group.  out group had to rap I can read with my eyes shut! I had to use  mahi tahi/we are collaborators! 

.I had lots of fun . 

Better than before!

 We had a challenge to take one of our blog posts and to make it better than before.  Here is the one that I made better.

Museum

 We went to the museum  to do some enviro art.  first we looked araund the galleries for patterns in the art and taonga. Then we made our art. we used the skewer to make our picture in the sponge. then we printed it. Aunty ora was our teacher at the museum. i had fun.

My writing

 

I was learning to connect my ending to my beginning in my writing.

We had to write about doing something new.

I found it easy to choose what to write about.  

Te atua

 

We were learning about the Atua/Gods for te reo.   

My favourite Atua is Haumiatikitiki and Rongomatane, but I like them all.  We had to use slides to share the connections for each Atua.

Today for our writing we did a quick write.

We had to write to describe a koru.  Here is my writing.  I hope you like it.

 We had to make a book using Book Creator.  My book is about what a scientist needs to be able to do.

Road Safety Advertisement

We were learning to create an advertisement to teach people about Road Safety.  We also had to learn to use the i-movie app on the ipad.  

We had to use our Mahi Tahi Learning asset because we had to do it as a group.

Te reo introduction

 

We are learning to introduce ourselves in te reo.  Here is my introduction.

Reflecting on my writing

 For our writing we have been writing Narratives. We have been learning to add a great hook in or opening line to our writing and to start our sentences in different ways.

This week we also had to have a smile and alliteration in our writing. This slide shows my hook in, sentence beginnings, simile and alliteration.

We are using our Kaiwhakarite/Self Manager learning asset by reflecting on our learning.

Dancing with the stars!

Do you like to dance?  Do you know what MAHI TAHI is?

On a Friday we have been doing Dancing with the Stars.  Every Friday we had to make up a dance in our group to the music we were given.  Then we had to share it with the class and the judges gave us scores.

This week we had a rock and roll song to dance to.  We had to make up the moves in our group and we were awesome.

I had lots of fun.

I was in a group with Brodie, Noah, Michael and Ashton.  We had to take photos of what respect looks like at Mangapapa.

I did enjoy taking photos a little bit.

 

Korowai

We went to the artroom with Mrs Griffin and we made a korowai in a group.

I was in a group with Manaijah, Maia and Ekam.

We made the feathers by folding the paper and then doing feather shapes.  Then we outlined them and made little flecks in them.  We added patterns with white pastel and then we dyed them.

Then we stuck them onto the korowai shape.

I liked working in my team.
